Because e-banking, the internet and many jobs can be done on a computer, many people sit the whole day, every day at the desk. In order to be healthy, we need physical activity. Sitting all day is bad for your: back, shoulders, hips and neck. Nothing can replace running or walking, but there are some stretches that can help you, if you are stuck at a desk every day.
• People who sit at a desk every day, can have a tight hip problem. In fact, this is a common problem. In order to prevent this, you must perform a Hip Release. The first step is to kneel on the floor. Step fit your leg in front of you (90 degrees angle) placing it flat on the floor. Press your hips forward. When you feel a stretch, it is enough. Hold this position 10-15 seconds and then switch sides.
• If you type on a keyboard a lot, then you must perform Chest Opener. While you rest the chin onto the neck, place your hands behind you, until your hands meet. Lift your arms. You will feel a stretch in your front shoulders and chest. Hold that position 10 seconds, return to the starting position and repeat.
• Perform Shoulders Rolling backwards and forward several times. This will loosen your upper body. Perform 10 reps for each way, then rest. Repeat 2-3 times.
• In order to perform a Trunk Rotation, lie on your back and relax your legs and arms. Bring to the chest and let them fall to the sides. Keep your upper torso and hands neutral. Hold that position 10 seconds and move to the other side.
