Life has become increasingly fast paced. The question that arises is - ‘If life is running so fast, how to not get caught up in its pace?’ If everyone is working so much then how can you take a day off and rest? Even taking a leave makes your forehead crease with worry.
‘I’ll get behind on so much work if I miss a day’ is all you can think.
While it’s perfectly good to worry so much about your work, you also need to realize that the reason you started working was, just to enjoy a few worldly pleasures in your life. That is exactly what you haven’t done. You’ve worked hard but you haven’t enjoyed your days off. So, sometimes it’s good for you to take a day off and go out to see the city. Eat something tasty, go to a place you’ve always wanted to go to; go see a monument you’ve seen only in movies and give yourself a well deserved treat.
Work gives you satisfaction but sometimes it keeps you awake at night. You’ve had sleepless nights, long days, no-time-to-eat-food days, in short very busy days but you can cope with your busy schedules easily too. Just be a wee bit more organized, plan your day ahead and most importantly, learn to say no. It’s very tempting to take on any and every task that’s offered to you but if you already have a pile of work waiting for you, you shouldn’t take up any more of it. It’s unfair to you and to your work. Over-burdened, you won’t be able to do justice to the latest piece of work given to you, the way you always do.
